The forest cover rate in Liupanshui increased to 43.3% in 2013 from the 7.55% in early 1990s, forming a unique style of the city where people live in the nature surrounded by green plants. In spring and summer, the healthy ecosystems with lush green valleys, crystal clean waters, and vivid wild ducks and egrets are more appealing. Therefore, the city is accredited as one of the National Top 10 Cities in Green and Environmental Protection.
